Love that song! I grew up riding quads in Harlan. When we started going there the Black Mountain ORV park wasn't as official as it is now. No permits and all that, but they had a map.
Back then, there in Evarts the police chief or sheriff lived along this main road. I remember riding my friend and I riding wheelies down that road only to see him out there washing his red Corvette and shaking his finger at us as we went by! lol

That looks like classic east coast wheeling. Good stuff!
My late father lived in Evarts when he was around six years old and remembered the coal wars. My Grandfather decided that becoming a Methodist minister had a better life expectancy than remaining a coal miner.
Here's a picture of when I was in Evarts in 2018...
I was probably last there in 2011 when I was home visiting and some friends and I took our trucks to Black Mountain.

Historically, the Baptists and the Methodists were always at loggerheads. I inherited a book that belonged to my Grandfather about Methodism in Kentucky in the mid to late 1800s. It was full of stuff about their revivals and such, and so many Baptists were "soundly converted" to Methodism, blah, blah.
