Car pics too cool not to share

I smell some serious money spent to spin a 493" to 7500 on a street engine . Titanium valve train , rods etc... I love a hot rodded MoPar RB !

I read all about it years ago. The original owner/build spent some coin on the car, built circa early-mid 2000s. IIRC, he built it to mess with his buddy's then new Corvette. I don't think there was anything exotic done to the engine, more or less a nice stroker kit, worked over aluminum heads and intake. B/RB MoPars have shaft mounted rockers, so they're more stable than a stud mount with high spring pressures and RPM. I've heard that a stock 413 is stable up to around 7K, but that's not really something I'm willing to test with mine. :sneaky:

Probably something like this.

Shaft rockers work well , my concern would be valve weight , retainers and spring pressure required to keep the lifter anywhere near the cam @ 7500 .
I think that engine would have huge valves to feed those cubes .

I just tried to read some of the original MoPar Connection magazine article, but it's scanned in and hard to read, so I don't know what the details are. The current owner says it makes 550 hp to the wheels (dyno) and runs a 12 sec 1/4. Not bad for a big cruiser that you can haul some friends around in.

I love big cars that are fast ! My buddy had a 95 Impala SS with a Wipple S/C with a smaller pulley , wilder cam , and a high stall convertor . It launched real hard like only a heavy car could . Yet it could get up to 130-140 m,p.h. on the interstate. I was glad he put big Baer brakes on it to slow back down !

I don't think many people would fight for that thing. Rides like a cloud if you like comfort. I'm just surprised it still exist. Most of these lost their driveline ( 8 3/4 rear axle and 10/11:1 413 ) to hot rodders decades ago and the bodies were sent for scrap.

I wouldn't fight anyone for it, but I'd still like to own it. It being a sedan rather than a hardtop makes it kind of appealing to me. Less wind noise around the window seals a when cruising around.

My God, I've gotten old...:cautious:
