Spent a long time working on this project during my down time and I can say its now finished.

Drawing with ink is unforgiving—you get one shot. Make a mistake and you have to start over, fight through it, and keep going. That struggle is exactly why this piece had to be done in ink.
When I started this project, as a Veteran I wanted a raw visual representation of what it means, and the constant battles we face with our past. Inspired by Venom, I created this: a soldier whose past has become his armor. The symbiote is always there—powerful, protective, and ever-present—yet it’s the side the world rarely sees. It’s the constant internal battle to keep it from taking over.
This drawing is about the struggles so many of us veterans carry and the difficult transition back to civilian life. Our service becomes a suit we can never fully remove. It protects us. It haunts us. It is us.
The ink itself mirrors that journey. You try, you fail, you start over, and you fight through the mistakes. In the end, those struggles create something powerful and permanent—something amazing that can’t be erased. Just like our experiences.
The beast isn’t the enemy. It’s the part of us that survived.

Yes he is...

As the saying goes: They teach us to fight & kill for our country but don't teach us how to return to civilian life after that...

And it's a large part of why there are 22 suicides a day by military & veterans a day... I know a lot of guys who struggled with life after the military...
