SRS Airbag Codes 0005 and 0003

Hello! The airbag light on my dash is coming on consistently and scanning with the Harbor Freight Zurich 11s I am pulling a 0003 and a 0005. It's saying that the Driver Squib Circuit 1 is Shorted and 0005 Passenger Squib 1 is Open.

Originally I did find the Passenger side airbag disconnected which I plugged in but it didn't seem to change any thing

On the driver side, I've read it's related to clock springs but my horn and cruise control work perfectly still

Any ideas on what to check next or next steps? My next though is to inspect the ACM but wanted to check with the community first before pulling the carpet up and looking at the ACM

I should also note that I wasn't aware that SRS codes can be cleared manually. I thought once the parameters are no longer tripping, it would reset after turning on and off the vehicle

My Zurich 11s doesn't seem to reset codes or show if it's stored or active. Would y'all suggest too find a reader with that capability?
 
Have you ohm checked the clock spring? It's a ribbon... entirely possible it's ripped on one side and not the other.

I have not. It's on my list but I'm a little reluctant to tear into the steering wheel just yet. Would a bad clock spring also affect the passenger side? In terms of Ohm resistance, which pins should I be looking at and what is acceptable range?

You should have some resistance but not much. Zero resistance indicates no wire. All wire has some.
Zero resistance? You won’t ever get zero resistance unless you have a short and the meter has lead compensation (for the resistance in the leads.) No wire means open circuit, or infinite resistance.

Ah shoot so I guess somewhere I have a broken or bad wire connection?

I do have some abrasion of wires going into my ECU, could that possibly affect things? Or is it more centered around the ACM?

My comment had nothing to do with your issues. It was more related to how multimeters/ohmmeters work.
