I did 99mph coming down the mountains in my 71 Fiat 850 spider running race gas. 58hp from 903cc of fury! Didn't hurt that I could pick up either end to move it around the garage by myself.
But I prefer having the power to go 120+ with a bike on the roof.
Some don't. I knew a couple.
I'm not saying I've paid for every bit of digital content I have, but I never was into Napster, though recall the era well. As for street racing, my opinions on it will surely make me sound older than I am.

There are other videos of "Ghost Rider" running around 180 on the back tire, which I think is 270-280 kph, that's what I was talking about. I think at one point he was running a turbo Hayabusa, which is 99% riding the lightning.
The "Getaway in Stockholm" series has at least a dozen videos out from that time period (late 90s-mid 00s)Edit; here's a video. It was a turbo Hayabusa. I've twisted the throttle on regular Hayabusas, there's no need for a snail shell.

Yeah, I lost a few, and speed was a factor for more than one of those. I used to love the street racing scene and speeding everywhere, but not much now. I don't like the unnecessary risk and danger that it puts bystanders or drivers in, and I absolutely detest those damn "street takeover" things. With age comes wisdom, well, for the ones who are smart enough to recognize it.

I think I still have hard drives full of downloads that would all fit on a cheap micro SD card now.
Personally, I think performance driving should be part of driver education, and strips/circuits should be more accessible to drivers, that way it can be done with some level of safety and keeps the authorities and general public at bay. It promotes things in a healthy way all around.
I'd actually like to buy as a kit and build one, were it not cost-prohibitive and damn near impossible over here. The other reality is, I probably couldn't drive that car due to my size, anyway.

I had a ton of music at one point, good and bad, but that computer had a failure and the hard drive was unrecoverable. I lost a ton of pictures with that failure, too, which was more important. That was back before I knew about backing things up. It's funny, back then it would take 20 minutes to an hour or more to download a song or short video. Now it's pretty much instant.

They're a father & son machine shop who seems to work on a lot of old stuff. Not much action stuff, but a lot of inside the shop info. They have long and short videos if you check out their page.

It's the most sturdy roof rack system I've ever seen. I did not think it a good idea to go any faster, mostly worried about the fork clamp giving way.
The bike tray is bolted into slots in the roof rack rails. The roof rack bolts directly into the roof into lugs that are part of the roof structure. Up through the 997.1, even the GT cars had the roof rack mount points including the extremely rare ~600hp 997.1 GT2. For some reason they used a different roof on the 997.2 GT cars.

I must be old, because I'm not exactly sure how I feel about something like this. Having never ridden anything like that, I don't know what it would feel like. Of course, I've never walked up to a tiger and punched it in the face, or stuck my dick in a light socket, either, but I can imagine the thrill would be similar...

Having twisted throttles on several "liter" bikes and Hayabusas, I imagine a turbo 'Busa is more like the light socket.
If you want to imagine what it's like riding a rocket, the closest thing I can think of is being on the back of a spooked horse getting the fuck out of there, but a lot faster.
Also, this is accurate.
The crazy thing is there are now street cars that can actually run with the bikes, and that's scarry.
