Ahh, the good ole days when emergency brakes for just for emergencies. I remember the fun I had driving a CJ on 35s with front drum brakes. Even better was the narrow width that seemed to cause a rollover on every off-camber surface. Back when men were actual men and didn't want to play in women's sports to win, just to cop a feel. Youngsters like you probably don't remember those days.

I had an auto glass business(36 years)couldn’t trust anybody to not mess up a car and do it right,so I did it all on my own and now my knees and one shoulder have to be replaced.

I know what you're saying. I had a home siding/deck company and couldn't leave the workers alone for two hours without them goofing off or screwing up a simple job.

I can't remember how many times I drove a vehicle with the parking / emergency brake engaged. Most memorable was a buddy's 1967 Camaro that we just put a new intake and carb on. I didn't realize he had set the brake when we switched drivers; I blasted around for a while, then when we stopped the rear brakes were smoking. I never even realized they were engaged.

I didn't realize he had set the brake when we switched drivers; I blasted around for a while, then when we stopped the rear brakes were smoking. I never even realized they were engaged.

That was another thing my dad was famous for, burning out the e-brake on the old '63 1 ton GMC. I think that thing was repaired 4 or 5 times when I was a kid.

I've driven through my parking brake multiple times, mostly while in 4Lo (makes it feel like it's not even on) but only for a few inches to a foot at most. That being said, I still set my parking brake anytime I plan on getting out of the car. No point in NOT setting it.

We were on a cross country trip with the camper and we were camped in FL near Disneyworld so I rented a car to do Disneyworld and sightseeing. Driving it to the campground from the rental place I just assumed it was a dog till we arrived and there was smoke coming off the back wheels.
