And what's up with the (oil?) ring below the wrist pin?

It's crazy that engine was running like that. I'm no expert, but a 4th ring was very common pre WWII and up into the early '50s (automotive). I'm guessing the manufacturers/engineers figured out that 4th ring was creating more drag than doing good, or maybe materials/designs got better during the war and they decided it unnecessary.

1965 Chevelle's are my favorite Chevelle ( especially in uber rare Z-16 flavor ) . Can you imagine how much it would cost to get the body , but more important the trim work presentable ??? The grille alone would be a huge dollar nightmare .
What would it cost , to get to this ?

Between 50 and 200k$

Between 50 and 200k$

The last three vehicles one of my buddies has turned out of his shop have all been dancing around the $100K mark, and that's just his resto work and materials, the customers supply the vehicles separately. Sadly, that seems to be a fairly typical price range now for a good off-frame resto (but not nuts/bolts/tags/paint markings detailed which would add to that price). He has a '69 Camaro that has gone from rusty pile of NY sadness to show competition, and I know that guy has around $110K in it + car, $50K of that is in the driveline (Texas Speed LS/Tremec 6-speed and I forget what rear end)

A California car fanatic and a Hooters calendar girl from Florida had been on a first date when they died in a horrific fireball crash, her family has revealed.

James Wehr, 27, and Alexis “Lexi” Kramer, 22, were killed around 12:20 a.m. Sunday when his 2019 McLaren slammed into a tree in Irvine, Orange County. The massive force of the impact split the supercar in two and saw it burst into flames, killing both people inside, with harrowing video showing the extent of the damage.

A member of Kramer’s family told the California Post that Wehr paid for her to fly from her home in Lakeland, Fla., to California Friday to meet for the first time after one month of chatting on social media.

James was also married.

I did 99mph coming down the mountains in my 71 Fiat 850 spider running race gas. 58hp from 903cc of fury! Didn't hurt that I could pick up either end to move it around the garage by myself.

But I prefer having the power to go 120+ with a bike on the roof.

Colnago! Back in my younger days I had a 1st generation Eddy Merckx. Loved that bicycle.
