Here's a fun idea for a thread :)

What's the next upgrade/mod/repair you have planned for your Jeep? What parts are you waiting on? How did you decide to do this up next (i.e. necessity/next on the list/just wanted it)?

Here's mine to start the thread. I'll post photos when done. I have nothing that's utterly urgent so that's a good thing.

  1. Regear. Can't decide between 4.88 and 5.13 so reading and researching more before I go to @David Kishpaugh. Inclining more towards 4.88 for my use case since I can't see using bigger tires but everyone says I'll go bigger eventually :D
  2. Very minor dent fix on driver side door. Bought the Jeep with it but since it's on the driver side I see it every time I enter the Jeep and it is bugging me (rest of the Jeep is in great shape). Doing my search to find a good body shop nearby that doesn't change an arm and a leg.
  3. Want to remove the backseat permanently since I don't use it and don't foresee using it. Trying to decide on best storage organization for the extra space that be convenient to use with both hardtop/softtop. Might have to get something custom made for what I have in mind. Still thinking about it.
  4. I ordered an early 90s mustang dead pedal just yesterday after seeing it in @jjvw's build thread. Pretty cheap from eBay. Cannot wait to install that once it arrives. @tworley also posted a photo but can't find which thread.

Please feel free to post your list no matter how major/minor, feel free to ask for feedback, bounce ideas, share pics (and otherwise derail:D as needed).

Tomorrow starts my weekend work.

1 install my bed tread carping
2 fix tail pipe the keeps coming loose.
3 fix vent tube - had to install a piece of regular hose as a temporary solution. But the molded piece is in.
4 remove third brake light and get spare to sit properly.
5 finsh led dash bulbs. I ran short.
6 adjust headlights so i can stop being that guy.

Hood hold downs up next for me. The hood flutters and now has a super annoying chirp on bumps. Not as bad with the top on and music up lol but still. I too am thinking about removing the backseat and storage options.

Even without bigger tires, I would still go with 5.13 personally.

As for me, supercharger is next!

Yeah. That's my confusion. Where do I really want my rpms at is the question.

You gonna get supercharger too? It's going to make your Jeep a beast! Same brand as in your earlier TJ? I hope you get a NICE sounding exhaust this time around :D

Also, did you install the speedohealer? I did not have to before my regear, but this thing made my speedo so damn accurate now. I love this product.

May I ask which hold downs are you considering? Replacing latches with OEM replacements or going with different ones like rugged ridge?

I think that might be the annoying chirp I've been trying to hunt down. Hood never even crossed my mind.

You'll love the bedtread. Great product. How big is your spare? Are you going to install a different 3rd brake light solution?

@psrivats I havent really decided yet. I think the ones I was looking at were the a rugged Ridge ones tho. Not sure if I really need the Mopar ones but want to keep it stockish

@MaloStapalo lol you feel my pain! I've been hunting this chirp for months now. Loosening and tightening shocks etc with no luck. Then on a long drive one day bam it hit me :aplastao:

I’m going to try the Sprintex one this time around, just to see.

I haven’t installed the SpeedoHealer yet, I plan to this weekend though!

As for RPMs, it will be perfect with 5.13 gears on your setup. The 4.88s were good, but I always felt like 5.13 would have been better if I could have redone it.

What part of the hood is making that noise?

Will be an Exogate to get the constant squeak out of my tailgate. I had planned on getting a tire carrier bumper but really like the looks of my refurbished mopar bumper on the jeep. Extreme Terrain just needs to get them back in stock.

I searched for two years to find the cause of a persistent chirp. It turned out to be loose flange bolts on the catalytic converter connection.

If that's not it, here is a thread with a list of common items to check: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/help-me-find-the-source-of-my-chirp-squeak.266/

So far with my LJ it’s fixing/correcting things to my standards as far as steering/geometry/suspension and things not working.
I’m still sorting out the suspension as it is skyjacker from a P.O.

So I am working to do new springs, adjustable CA and Drive shaft (to get rid of t-case drop)

Then I have a antirock and new bumper sitting around I have that I want to put on for convenience and to have better recovery options.

My main barrier right now is I’m not around much. Work has been crazy during the week and I’m gone 3 of the 4 next weekends.
