Rancho RS5000X shock confusion

So I'm trying to order shocks for my 3" lift springs which are now in UPS' hands.
I go to Rancho's site and they list three 5000X shocks: stock, +2.5", +3.5"
My inclination is to go with the +3.5", thoughts?

Then I go to Amazon and it lists the proper Rancho numbers (RS55255, RS55256) under a set of 4 shocks that fits 4-5" lift!
WTF?

Run the ones for a 2.5" lift. They run on the long side, so with a 3" lift you should be good. I think they are RS55239/RS55241.

Those are the right part numbers.

Front RS55239 14.43"/23.84"
Rear RS55241 13.68"/21.68"

If 3" the 55239/55241 should work. The Ranchos run a bit long. I tried to run them on 2.25 of lift and they were too long. They need a solid 2.5-3 to run in the center of their stroke.

Just installed mine. I got the 2-4” lift ones. The catalog numbers at the end were 39 and 41.

Just checking mine, we bought 55/56 to use with Currie 4" springs on a fairly light setup (no spare, no winch, mid length front bumper). Is the 55/56 set ok with 4"?
