31" tires with 2-3" lifts?

After reading this post, it has me seriously considering a Zone or OME budget lift and 31’s. It’s really not a $$ thing with me, I would just use the TJ on pavement 90 plus percent of the time.
31's will fit with no lift. Run some Moog coils 3226/3227 and Rancho 5000X shocks for stock length. Will ride great and you won't have to worry about driveline vibrations.

Anyone here think 33s with the stocky 30/35s axles on the 4cyl will be all that bad? I've been running 31s but increased some power with a new full exhuast however I've been eyeing 32s over 33s because of power concerns and the axles but will it really be that bad?

I didn't like mine with 31's and 3.73. You are going to be pretty gutless on 33's.

Yeah I was thinking about re gearing sometime this year to maybe 4.10s but in the mean time when looking for tires I can't seem to find 32x10.5, pretty tough to find especially for a 17 wheel

Forget 4.10, 4.88 for 32, 5.13 for 33. I run 4.88 with 31's and it works great.

If you have 17" wheels, start looking for 255/75R17. That is the stock JK tire, and you can find takeoffs ALL over the place for dirt cheap. Its a 32 x 10...

Here is mine. 16" Rubi's, 265/75R16 Falken Wildpeaks. This is PRE 2.5" BB lift, which made a huge difference.

The tires are a good compromise of weight, performance, and strength. They're 4 ply, which should be fine for normal (for me) off road use, but super quiet and comfy on the road. I needed to save weight so I could pull behind my class C motorhome.

I’ve concluded that I won’t move up from 31s or a 3” lift until the TJ is not a daily driver. It’s so capable in most places just how it is and I don’t have to worry too much about breakage.

My 12 has 255/75/17 which eguals 31s, I just bought it but I do not think it has a lift at all. I do just fine but I have not gone out in the mud or anything like that yet. It still has streer tires on it. But I do not plan I doing anything crazy with it. Just trails and nature stuff so no big deal.

Oh, I totally forgot about that. Maybe I should give it a try, huh?

I just don't want to use their JKS shocks with it. I'd rather use Ranchos. They only offer it with their JKS shocks or Fox shocks.

I’m currently reading this thread, so you might have covered this but, which length of ranco shock would you suggest/choose for 2” lift and 31” tires? The measurements and what exactly to measure gets me mixed up.what do you think? Thanks!

Rancho makes a 2-3” shock, but they run a little long, so 3” of lift is really recommended. They're the RS55239 and RS55241
