No Bus on dash

So what is wrong with it? A short in the wire or something?

I’m thinking it’s that because I tested the sensor by unplugging it and no bus was still there. Gave the wire power and started up just fine. Might be a bad sensor or maybe just the plug gonna figure it out tomorrow

The TPS (throttle position sensor) has three wires. One wire is a 5-volt supply. One wire is a signal to the PCM (powertrain Control Module) and will vary from about .26 volts at idle to 4.49 volts at wide open throttle. The last wire is a return to PCM (ground).

Yeah the or/dB wire supplies power from pcm to sensor. Solid orange is primary 5v and the last wire can’t remember what color goes back to the pcm

Download the FSM and look up the wiring diagram for that circuit.

This is what I got if anyone can help me with this not familiar with wiring lol

Dad recommended this lol

That’s would get you home, but it certainly isn’t a fix. Disconnect the battery. Remove connectors at PCM one at a time and inspect each pin carefully on the harness and PCM for corrosion. Clean as needed.

Try this, turn the ignition key to the position right before the Jeep cranks and wait until all the gauges activate and then start your Jeep. You may have to fiddle with the ignition switch a little. I have the no bus issue but when I follow this procedure I don't get error. If you get the same result maybe we can join forces to figure this out.

I’m leaning more towards the wires at the tps I don’t think it’s communicating with the pcm because when I gave the tps power it started right up so I’m thinking that the tps isn’t getting power from the 5v supply or it’s not communicating back to the computer and saying “I’m getting power wake up”

It was running fine all day yesterday took it to work to work on it last night updates will be later on today

My Jeep doesn’t come with a skim from factory could this cause it? It was never plugged in until I discover it today

So I don’t want to toss another potential dead end solution here, but another member had this issue and it turned out to be the aftermarket radio. He unplugged it and everything worked fine.

I had the same problem with my tj and found the fix searching the web. Remove gauge cluster and look at the connectors on the back. Two boxes with about 20 pins in each. CAREFULLY. Take a small pair of needle nose pliers and twist each pin about 5 degrees. This creates a better connection. 3 months and no problems. Twenty minute fix.
