Hi. I just got a 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport with 104,000 miles on it. I think that the springs and shocks need to be replaced. Can anyone recommend replacement springs and shocks for an unlifted stock jeep or a mild suspension lift 2-2.5". The Jeep will be used mostly on the highway and not for rock crawling. I just got a new set of 31X10.5 R15 BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 and they fit fine with no rubbing. Thank you

@KCsTJ has a great lift, you could do Bilstien 5100s or whatever other shocks you wanted instead of the Ranchos, but those Ranchos are very well liked. If you want to get a kit then OME 2" heavy or light is always a good idea, I have no complaints on mine. If you piece it together you'll need springs and shocks all around plus a rear trackbar relocation bracket and maybe a t-case drop kit if you experience any vibrations. If you button it up with the front wheels looking too off-center you would do well to get an adjustable track-bar at that point, but at 2" it shouldn't be noticeable.

OME is mentioned alot, Rancho for shocks... it's a learning process still with me. As u read different threads things will begin to sort out.
Thank you all for your invaluable knowledge and input. It is all still a learning curve for me. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for front seats. I was looking at the Mastercraft Baja RS but I also heard that RugedRidge, and Bestop make some pretty good seats. Any thoughts? Thanks again for your insight.

Almost anything 2.5 might sit almost 3’ for you, I’ve got the skyjacker softride 2.5 springs I mean you can’t really go too wrong with any spring I guess

H&R springs would be another option if you just want a small lift. A couple forum members run them and note a 1- 1 1/2" lift with them.

Thank you guys for your advice. I will check out Rock Krawler but I live in South NJ closer to Philadelphia than New York. All the members that have responded have incredible looking Jeeps. As I learn and start modifying my own Jeep hopefully one day mine will look as nice as all of yours. Thanks again guys for your input.

Mine has that setup, plus a body lift, so I’m running 33’s, but it looked great on 31’svwith that setup.

Hi JMT and jazngab and thank you for your response. How are the OME on the highway? I read that the rear shocks are hard to install because they are too close to the gas tank or something of that nature, did you find that to be true JMT? I live in Westampton jazngab which is in Burlington Township, NJ.
Ride quality is tied to shocks and tire pressure. Your springs aren’t going to make any noticeable difference. Lots of people use the Rancho 5000X shocks because they give a very good ride for T. J.
No, there are no clearance issues with the rear OME shocks and gas tank/skid. Install can be a little cumbersome on the upper rear shock bolts due to space, but I never had a problem. If your bolts are all rusty it could cause a headache.
I am running OME also in my LJ, 933 frt, 949 rear. The OME shocks are a bit firm for me , been looking at fox but not sure if they will work for 2.5" lift.
I’m actually waiting on a set of OME springs to replace my budget boost lift. Prob will do it when I do regear and axle swap. The thing with replacing rear shocks is removing the old ones as you’re more than likely gonna break one, two, three, or all four bolts which then makes the job frustrating as hell. Prob the hardest more frustrating job I’ve done so far in the tj. Fronts were a b*tch too.
