I love my front/rear TrueTrac's.
However, factors such as it being my daily driver, that I drive in snow for at least half the year, the difficulty level I offroad on (not high - it's my only vehicle), and of course, finances helped make my decision. Less chance of breaking an axle too.
While a selectable locker is typically the most desired - winter conditions have been know to...complicate...things like air lockers (such as compressor not working, condensation freezing in airline, etc). It's not uncommon to hear someone complaining about their lockers not engaging on a snow trail. When I need it to work, I NEED it to work. The TrueTracs work. Period. Don't even need to replace worn out clutch pads either.
(The downside is their performance level vs true lockers. From where I've gone - this has not been an issue yet. In fact, I've gone places a few Rubicons got stuck. That's not a "brag/challenge/etc", just saying that while they technically won't perform as well as a true locker on most situations, it's performed well enough that it did not matter).
Of course, if you find yourself often offroading with your tires in the air, then a TrueTrac is not what you'll be wanting.
However, while you mention you see snow, I'm not so sure how much/often you'll see it where you're located. If I lived in California, I'd keep my eyes on the Detroit locker or a selectable. At least in the rear. (I didn't pick the Detroit locker for mine solely because of the amount of snow/ice daily driving I do, but I did heavily consider it).
