No brake lights, turn signals, or flashers

I have been all over this site and others without any success. Bought a 2001 a couple months ago. Started with a full cooling system overhaul, replaced A/C compressor, and some other odds and ends. Then moved to gutting the inside. Monstaliner on the tub and then started putting it all back together with various replacements and upgrades along the way.

I get it all buttoned back up and all exterior lights work except the turn signals, flashers and brake lights. Center brake light works. Both back brake lights work only when the flasher button is pushed in. These are all NON-LED bulbs.

I fixed what most said to be the problem. I replaced the multi-switch with the Mopar part and the flasher relay. Checked all the fuses, wiring connections, and back brake lights are tight so they are grounding correctly.

At this point I am lost. I don't know what else to do. I'm hoping someone can help out here.

If the center light works then it seems a logical assumption that the switch is working so the problem is farther downstream. 1157 lamps in place and not 1156?

Check the voltage on the line coming to the multi switch from the fuse block at the steering wheel plug and at the firewall. I’ve seen it fail and the cause wa a wire in the harness between the firewall and fuse panel, the factory service manuals are posted on the forum

I have checked this and the right bulbs are in for the brake lights and turn signals.

One other thing I did do was change the wiring harness at the multi-switch. The 20 year old plastic was starting to fall apart after pulling it in and out of the new switch a few times. All the wires and plugs looked fine. I just pulled one wire at a time and put it into the new one.

Can you give me some additional information on checking the voltage and how/where to do that? And what results I should or shouldn't get?

Yes, made sure every one clicked and was seated in their correctly.

This is driving me nuts that I can't figure it out!!!

I asked about the lamps because you wrote the brake element only worked on flasher. The flasher should run the running light/turn signal element, the brake light is a different element on a separate circuit. This implies a wiring mistake and the only way I know to sort that out is with a test light or a volt meter and time.

Ignore me, my brain went into motorcycle mode. All the same, a good meter could show you if you have a bad ground and you get you on the right track.

Oh man, this is one of those things where it's going to be really tough for anyone to help.

It's one of those situations where I think you literally have to spend some serious time going through things with a fine tooth comb and retracing your steps. Clearly along the way you unplugged something or did something that you forgot to put back together. What that might be, I don't know. I suppose checking the fuses is always a good place to start.

That's what I always like to do, start with the simple stuff. Occam's Razor always seems to remain true.

How come there are several posts about these problems people have had over the years and nobody has come back with an answer to what they found caused the issue?

Probably ended up being something really simple.

Do you have a meter, and know how to use it?
What have you checked so far?

Definitely check all grounds, since you gutted and lined the interior some could have come loose or the liner could have compromised a good ground contact

I don't have a meter or know how to use one. I am waiting for my friend to have time to try to check it out. I have been checking fuses, the turn signal fuse is fine. I did find out that the brake lights work when the hazard button is pushed in.

So you are saying the turn signals and brake lights do not come on except the high mount stop lamp works but the hazards work and flash front and rear lamps? Do you have a test light or voltmeter?

Do all the parking lights work?

With lights off, press the brake pedal.
Do all the brake lights work, or just the center?
