Walked out this morning and noticed a gas leak. Its dripping out from the drivers side strap that holds the gas tank to the skid plate. About to drop the tank and check all fuel lines for any cracks. Has anyone had this problem before?

Never had it happen... Have you been off-roading on some jagged rocks or anything?

I havent been off road in 3 days but it was just in the mud, havent seen any gas leaks until now. Ran into the problem of the skid plate wanting to hit the receiver hitch, so i have to take that off as well.

Another weird thing is it will only leak for a little bit then stop, then leak again later on, then stop, then continue that process

Got the tank dropped with two straps, a tiny jack and some bricks. Took me a while to break over some bolts, about to check all of the fuel lines.

View attachment 7856 found the problem i believe. Gasket that seals the fuel pump inside the tank looks like this

Just filled it up lastnight too, might explain why i only noticed it today and why it would stop and start, may have built up pressure with the heat then the seal released the pressure, and so on.

Crap, I'm surprised they even had it in stock! My dealer never has anything I need in stock.

Chris you need to change dealers! Oh I forgot you live in Salem!:p

I'm referring to the dealer in Beaverton before we moved. They never had jack in stock... It was pretty annoying.
Who is the dealer in Salem now? How are they on inventory? I have to go to Bend for a dealer and they are the "can have it here next week" kind.

My Jeep dealer near the city I live by here in Texas almost always has what I need. They're the tops. They also cut me an awesome discount.

I had a dealer in Utah just like that.n in fact I still call and order part thru them rather than the guys locally.
