03-06 seat bracket install in 99 TJ?

I swear nothing comes easy for me. LOL! I finally opened the late model 03-06 seats I bought a few months back. To put in my '99 TJ. They were boxed up from freighting. And they took the seat brackets off the seat for some reason. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the seat brackets back on.

Here's a pick of what I'm dealing with.

Notice the inner rail on the left is higher than the inner rail on the right? How do I get that right hand rail to come up even with the left? Otherwise the bracket won't bolt onto the rails.

(The bracket is just sitting there leaned up against the bottom of the seat for reference. The top two bolts have to line with the top two holes.)

Also what is the curved cable in the middle for?

Any help greatly appreciated.

That video shows the right way to take the "complete" bracket off the seat. Which is to take the entire bracket off the seat. What the junkyard did was take half the bracket off the seat. And left the other half on. Which has left me with these uneven sliders. I'm going to try to mess with the seat slider mechanism to see if I can get those inside sliders to move back into an even position. Barring any better advice.

I guess I'm going to know how a seat works in its entirety before this is over. Something I have no interest in. Yet here I am. lol!

Thanks for posting the vid though. It did give me an idea of what the cable in the middle is for and where it attaches too. It's either part of the reclining mechanism by the seat belt holder. Or it attaches to the bottom half of the seat bracket. As otherwise why take it off like they did? I can only assume it was to completely remove the bottom half of the seat bracket.

The stupid thing is I can't find a reason why they would take half the bracket off. Unless it was simply to make it fit the boxes they had. IDK. But it's a pain in the ass now. That they've done it.

Just a guess here... the handle or bar that you pull up on to slide the seat back when mounted is just a release and the two sliders are independent of one another. If you were to pull that bar to release the sliders, you should be able to just manually slide one side to be even with the other. Releasing the bar should then lock them in the same position for mounting.

That's what I did and it worked. Now I'm stuck on just one last part that came with the brackets. See next post....

So there's this one extra part. I don't know where it goes. Tried to inspect the dust marks. But to no avail.

Anybody know where this part goes:

This is the seat with the rail on the right fixed by simply pulling up on the seat slider handle. The extra parts are just sitting there on that top bolt. I'm sure that's not where they go. But I wanted to show them for size reference.

Let me check back through my pictures. Pretty sure those go on the middle pair of the 6 bolts that attach the riser / slider mechanism to the mounting brackets.

Oh, you have those brackets upside down in that last picture. The plates that bolt to the floor look like they are against your seat.

Thank you. This helps alot. But my bottom brackets are in like two parts. Maybe that is the fold and tumble mechanism? And your's is not? IDK. Just guessing. I'll try to switch them around today and see if they fit.

Still a bit cloudy on the that one piece. But I'll look at the pics below more closely.

Yes I believe that’s where the part goes.
The picture of the part itself I had to put my phone under the seat and face the camera up. Soo I took the picture blind and it came out good.

Okay just took it off. The blue circles are where that part goes. The first 4 pictures the seat is in its folded or tumble position. The red arrow is pointing to a hole where it is mounted to the tub.

No idea I have the same cable I didn’t have to disconnect any cables. Just 4 bolts hold on the seat bracket and it’s off.

That is a release cable for the tumble portion. I DO have a picture of that....

This is from "above" or more correctly, if you removed the seat padding, you would see this.

Here is where they will attach to the seat back...

Well I got the seat brackets back together and on the seats. Took a little trial and error. But they're on.

Now to read the instructions on my Misch Big Boy brackets. And I can remove my old seats and in with the big boy brackets and the new seats.
