I need a distributor for my 97 tj 2.5. I purchased a rebuilt a1 cardone unit and it was garbage. Has anyone had luck with the new units offered by a1 cardone and others?
I don’t know about the distributors but I tried two, yes two, Cardone rebuilt wiper motors and neither one worked. Ordered Mopar and haven’t had a problem since.
I bought this one NOT FOR 2.5. but this one works very good for my 4.0l.

Jerry I have had decent luck with cardone in the past but this distributor was terrible. The mounting hole on the body had been cut off, the bottom bushing fell out, the shaft was pitted and chewed up etc...absolute trash that should have never made it this far
ok that's good to know...I saw one bad review that said the sensor failed early on but I always take the reviews with a grain of salt. I appreciate your input
There really doesnt seem to be much selection out there. The one that boinked linked to is available as well as a a1 cardone new unit. Other than that you are stuck with rebuilt units that are most likely a1 cardone in different boxes. The other option is to send mine out for a rebuild but since it's my daily driver that doesnt work for me
Chris there is a place named "philbin" that will rebuild our distributors. They are in Portland so semi local for us. My dad has had them do distributors before and was very happy with their service. I may call next week and see what the cost and turn around time would be.
