Help me pick a hard top

I am currently trying to pick a Hardtop for my 04 Rubicon.... I think I like a Two piece concept but I’m having trouble finding one that I truly like....
so I was wondering if I could ask my fellow Forum Comrades which one they prefer.....?
I currently have a stock style soft top and to be honest I have never been a Fan of the way to Back looks. Not to mention I don’t find it easy to remove lol those dam zippers
I think I saw one from DV8 on extreme terrain for 2,100$ but it was a shape I was unsure about (Bigger windows and such) because I can’t see it in person... and it doesn’t come with rear window options.

Thanks guys I’m just looking for opinions or ideas
 
I know you mention liking the fastback look, but personally I would just buy a used stock hard top.

$2,100 is a lot to spend on a top when you can get a used one in great shape off CL or FB for well under $1,000.
 
Go factory if you want near perfect fit, no leaks or wind noise.

I did, and I’m very glad .

This week, we bought a used factory top for our 2000 Wrangler Sport...we drove 5 hours to make the purchase..and it was well worth it. Having read comments, regarding the fact that the factory tops, if available, are a much better fit than after market tops...we continued our search until we found this one. It came off a 2002 Sport...has the vents in the rear and, the Sport the top came off of had been garaged all these years...It is close to new !! What a find. We found it on FB Marketplace. You must be cautious and ask any and all questions...get extra photos, etc. We paid $700 for it.

I stopped at a local beer store on the way home from work a couple of years ago. This guy have a similar TJ and we chatted a bit. He kept commenting about my hardtop and offered $1000 dollars cash. I refused, but was like dang. A grand. Saw him a couple more times, he offered a couple more times. It is like our thing now. LoL! I was considering buy a totaled TJ that has smashed in the front. I want to cut the front off and make a camping trailer. If it was a soft top; I would have used my hardtop on the camping trailer and buy the three piece like the JL hardtop to use on mine. After reading this tread I will reconsider my options.

I had mine listed for $400 CAD ($305 US) for quite a while with no interest. I'm always quite shocked with the prices I see mentioned here for them! 🤯
 
I am surprised also what people have to pay. I have seen them for as low as give away . Usually $100 to $600 around here.I have one on my 2000 tj otherwise I would be guying one at the give away prices around here in southern ontario.

I have an LJ so used OEM hardtops were not as readily available, or as inexpensive, as a used OEM TJ hardtop. Since the pricing of a used LJ hardtop vs a new aftermarket hardtop was basically the same price, I went looking for a different hardtop. The only hardtop I could find that was different/unique, although way more expensive, was the Gr8tops hardtop.

If you have the funds to spend then this could be a great option for you, else I would look for a used OEM hardtop.

Yeah, I do agree with you there, the LJ does look better due to the length of the vehicle. I would honestly still to the OEM, much cheaper than an aftermarket and @cliffish posted a nice looking one in Milford, CT. Depending where you are in NY that drive could be 40 minutes or 8 hours.

At that price I would gladly drive 8 hours for it. That would be a very good deal around here.
 
I'm in Colorado can't drive there to get a top the cheapest I have seen within 750 miles is. $850 it was 500 miles away it still is not low enough to drive that far
 
I’ve got a two piece Rally Top. Very quiet and no leaks. I’ve never owned or compared it to an oem. I would recommend them.
