Recently got a set of bestop covers from amazon warehouse deals. they get hot and do not breath well in my opinion. Do Bartact breath / vent better?
Do Bartact seat covers breath better than Bestop?

Haven’t sat on Bestop covers before but they look a bit more vinyl like an old classic car seat to me. Which means hot and sticky. So I’d think the Bartact breathe better than those or neoprene. In this heat I still sweat with them on my Jeep though.
Yeah, was out yesterday without doors in 90 degree heat and definitely was sweating at all the seat contact points. They feel very durable and fit pretty good but are not very breathable. Also burned my wife's legs so I feel like I may get a pass if I order more expensive bartact covers.

What is the Bartac material? I’ve been trying to decide on seat material as well. I saw the Bestop in the store yesterday and they seemed like they wouldn’t breathe well. But it’s always the damn trade off: breathability vs water resistance...

Bartac's are Ballistic Nylon. I have them over my factory cloth seats and even in the Arizona heat they're comfortable. I initially balked at the price, but they are worth it. Of course about two months after I got mine they came out with the covers without MOLLE on them for significantly less than I paid.
If you can stomach the price , Bartact won’t disappoint. They don’t look and fit like covers , they look like a custom reupholstery job, with a tough , easy to clean material. They don’t bunch up or move or have gaps. In some cases folks use them in lieu of the factory covers .

Haven't used the Bestop covers . . . so can't compare them. I have the Bartact covers and like them. They are cool and waterproof, fit very snug, and comfortable. American made, they aren't cheap . . . my opinion only, they are worth it.
I just made the switch to Bartacts after many years with the Bestops. After I took the hardtop off the Bestops were terrible. It only took one ride with the Bartacts to confirm that I made the right decision.

I recently bought Bartact seat covers and totally agree with everything AndyG said. I have been very happy with mine, I have recently running with no doors, or side windows, and haven't had my legs burned by the seat covers.

The Bartacts, or any other seat cover, aren't going to stop you from sweating in high heat/high humidity. The point is that you don't stick to the seat and the seat doesn't get as hot as with the vinyl Bestops.

I don't know how anything can breath when your ass is on it but my new Bartract seat covers do not get as hot in the direct sun when parked as the OEM seats. I do try to park with my seat in the shade though!

I bought the Bartact base models, seemed fitting for my SE, and have been very happy with them. I’ve noticed that they don’t heat up like the vinyl covers I’ve had before.

Anyone in southeast Texas can tell you about heat and humidity, but until you actually experience a heat index constantly over 115-120 mixed with exhaust fumes in traffic, while trying to be cool by having no doors or windows, you have not experienced “severe swamp ass” in its entirety yet. I know I’m not alone on this by any stretch, but once you do get moving, having the ability for air to circulate between you and the seat is nothing short of glorious. I too have no experience with the Bestop covers, but I can’t tell you how much I appreciate my Bartac covers, and the air they pass.
In a place where we have what most consider “summer”, then we have July and August after that, (which has got to be one of the steps before Hell) even at a slow speed I can feel air through the seat. I have mulled over the possibility of rigging up one of those misting devices inside the cockpit, while tossing the back seat in lieu of a water bladder to draw from, but I’d also have to invest in some quick drying clothes to go anywhere. What’s funny is having somebody notice my left arm and leg is more tanned than the right, and my wife has the opposite issue.
