Any tips on installing a new master cylinder?

Going to be install a new Master cylinder for my Vanco 16” brake kit.

I don’t currently have a vice in my garage right now will I be able to bench bleed it without one?

How about a bench bleed kit. Any certain one good or one I should avoid?

Would be glad to hear any other tips I have not changed a master cylinder for about 5 years.

I had a vice when I did mine. I used an off the shelf bleeder kit from autozone and it required way less force than when I did Tom's super 16 with the plugs.

Roger that. The instructions call for adjusting the pushrod length per the FSM. I am not seeing this in the manual (or am blind). Do you happen to know a video that goes over the process? Or mind giving me a brief description of the process? I figure it will make since once I take it off but don’t like to go in blind.

I appreciate all the help you have given me since you basically already built this Jeep. Haha

We did not need to make any adjustments. If you PM Blaine he will undoubtedly steer you in the right direction. When we installed the Super 16 kit I let the system drain over night by opening all the valves so it wasn't as messy since it calls for new fluid anyways.

The gun on the item linked was junk but the filler bottle was by far the best part of the kit. It has been invaluable while bleeding brakes. If you can find just the bottle I would highly recommend getting it.

I measured Tom's OEM master cylinder piston and it's 1.5"

I always have extra room in the driveway if you want another set of hands.

We did not need to make any adjustments. If you need to adjust it though I believe you just grab the piston with pliers and turn it. If you PM Blaine he will undoubtedly steer you in the right direction.
