For the 98 wrangler, mopar discontinued the radiator for the automatic. If anyone knows where to find one that would be amazing help.

Bought mine from the dealership a couple months ago. If you call one up they should have access to the distributor stock and get one in for you. Isn’t cheap but, thing is built like a tank. Could try one of the sites like Wermopar or something too.
The only difference is how the trans cooler lines plug in. You will need some tube adapters. A pair of these will plug into the new radiator and give you 3/8" barbs to attach your rubber lines to.

Mopar discontinued the exact one for my 98 auto straight six and I haven't seen any floating around quite yet. Many of the other model radiators are still up just not mine in particular.
It is only the exact model that direct fits with no extra adaptors or anything. Its the 52028123AB model. I can definitely use adaptors and all of that when the time comes but finding any of these exact ones would be a little better for reassurance more than anything.
If it helps, they are the exact same radiator. The only difference is how the lines hook up to the trans cooler part. The trans cooler lines are the same except for how they connect to the radiator. The only difference there is the short steel section connected to the rubber transmission hose.
Digging around some more, I sort of confirmed what I recall about the coolers. I remember that there are 3 versions that differ in how the lines connect. 97-99 are one style, 00-02 are another, and 03-06 are the quick disconnect that I showed above.
I have probably sent you the wrong direction converting to the later one although I would do it that way since they will likely discontinue that version last. I need to check today and see if I can discern the difference between the 98 and 00 specifically. If what I suspect is true in that the cooler lines just slip over tubes screwed into the cooler, that will make your selection easier.
If you can figure out exactly what you have, that would help.
My O3 had the slip on trans connectors, the replacement I bought from a junkyard had quick disconnects, and the 3rd OEM new radiator I got was the slip-on, not sure the year. (Confused yet?)
They all still mount the same, and as stated the connectors are the only difference;

I have an 04, and part number 55037653AB which has 3/8 hose barbs. You can use that if you get clamps and cut your hose. I assume 5102983AA that rockauto lists for 1997-1999 wranglers has the quick connects that fit yours.

Update: there is now a steady drip from what i believe is the water pump. I am not totally sure where its coming from but I do need to stop it temporarily so I don’t poison any animals or pets.
There you go, spreading myths again. There are at least two methods to stop a leaking water pump. One is as you stated, replace it. The second is to drain all the coolant out of the radiator. No coolant, no leak.
Ah yes that works all right. From further inspection the leak is from the radiator hose on the pump’s clamp. It is hard to tell quite yet if it is yet. I have looked up some videos on how to get to the hose and water pump. It seems simple enough to get the fan and belt out but how hard is it to get that belt back in with proper tension and all?
Never mind on re installing everything. Figured that one out but is there any reason for me to think the leak is from anything besides the lower radiator hose?
Your 98's serpentine belt tension is controlled/adjusted by a very long vertical adjustment screw you'll find on the power steering pump bracket.
How does one re install this bolt to have the exact tension as it had before?
