Just received ECM from FS1 plugged it in hooked up the battery turn the key on got cluster lights but no chime turn to start and nothing. Wouldn't try to start until I plug the skim module back in and then it started but got the flashing key, and then shut down few seconds later. I'm thinking the skim feature was not disabled?

I assume you meant FS1? I spent a lot of time on the phone with a few people I never got any clear answers the new ECM would not start the Jeep without the skim module plugged in but then I got the key light with the slash through it and then the Jeep died. Trying to get technical answers from FS1 was not happening

Then they have a problem they need to solve, don't they?

Well obviously you don't. Posting on here see if anybody had similar experience. my impression is that the skim was not disabled even though the salesperson insisted that it was

If you have a question, ask the question, don't expect anyone especially me to read your mind. In your first post, you described what the issue was and instead of asking if the SKIM wasn't disabled, you said- "
I'm thinking the skim feature was not disabled?" Cool, but where is the question?

Had you asked if the SKIM was functioning correctly, I would have said yes, but I am confused by the lack of lack of chime stuff since you gave no background. Help us help you.

Okay then that was my question if it sounded like this game was disabled when I turn the key on I got all the dash lights I believe except key light there was no chime. nothing happens when I turn the key to the start position. when I plugged the skim module back into the harness I got a chime the key light all the dash lights and the Jeep did start within the key light flashed and it shut down after a few seconds hope that better explained my question thanks

Sorry my talk to speech doesn't work that great, meant to say if it sounded like the skim was not disabled

Well looking back at this thread, clearly I have come to the wrong forum for help. Great place to get lectured by the high and mighty on the proper phrasing of a question. I guess I dont fit in to your snobbish close minded little click! Oh well my search continues.....

Welcome to the trouble that is FS1. Once upon a time I would have recommended them to others, but lately all I've been reading about is negative experiences with them, one after another.

I wish I could be of more help, but I'm sure someone may chime in here with more knowledge than I have on the subject.

Disregard Blaine, I think he might be bipolar (really). He's extremely helpful most of the time, but has good days and bad days. It seems that someone may have pissed in his Cheerios this morning. He's on every Jeep Forum out there, so I don't think you'll escape him, you just have to learn to ignore him. I'm saying this because his demeanor in this thread doesn't reflect the atmosphere or attitude of the majority of people on this forum.

What you could do is take your ECM to a dealer that has the tool to access it and have them check to see is SKIM is enabled or not. Have you thought about doing that?

Thanks for the reply though. I've got nowhere with them they will only put me in touch with the same person over and over. oh well we'll get it straightened out one of these days. the lifetime warranty was the hook!

Yep, I'm not surprised. Their customer service is non-existent. I suppose if worse comes to worse, you can always file a chargeback. Still, if it were me, I'd take it to a dealer or shop with the tools to make sure SKIM isn't enabled on it.

There's others on here in this thread who have bought replacement PCMs from FS1 without issue, so it may be worth posting in this thread too: Where to get a new or rebuilt PCM?

Cant help on the issue either as I dont have SKIM. WranglerFix has a number of good reviews lately, though take it for what its worth because each review is a newish member and I have yet to see one rack up any real mileage on their replacements.

I appreciate your Insight my little rant was narrowly focused. I've owned my Jeep for 7 years and learned so much valuable information from this forum. this was the first time I ever asked a question. Trying to decide whether to take the new PCM to the dealer that route or send it back to FS1 to check it
