This is my issue: I removed my 4 liter engine and the computer off my 2001 TJ, to be replaced by a small block 350. I have a bundle of wires under the jeep for speedo, fuel and others. The forum suggest I look in the manual part of this site to find where these wires go but the manuals do not give me the information that I need. I know that they go to the rear of the jeep I need to know how and where to reconnect them back in the wiring harness.

That isn't an easy question to answer. There are very few people, if any, that would even know exactly what each of those wires need to be reconnected to without looking it up themselves. Are all the questionable wires even visible in that picture?

I agree. I don’t think many people are going to know where those wires go without looking at the Jeep themselves. Your best bet is to see if you can match all of the wire colors to ones in the FSM. Figure out where they are coming from and you may be able to figure out where they go to.

Back in the wiring harness is pretty vague. Which wiring harness are you referring to and are you in hope of making everything work? If so, you have a very tough row to hoe. The TJ PCM is generally retained to make the dash work. The TJ PCM controls a whole bunch of that stuff and without it in place, you are going to have to pick out each circuit and find a way to blend it into your new control system.

Go to the other end of that harness and find each circuit you want to use. There should be one for the NSS, Speedo sender, fuel pump, fuel gauge, and trans harness that will either complete the NSS circuit or pick up the reverse light function.

How are you firing the 350 and what are you using for a controller if anything? How do you plan on firing up the dash instrument cluster?
