Does My 2003 Ignition Key Have a Chip In It?

I'd love to add the SKIM to my 99 but I haven't had success finding the correct SKIM module part number. The ones I find always say they're for later years and I can't find the part even in the parts manual.

Most vehicles have an emergency key in the fob. You just press a small release and you can slide the key out.
My wife's 2014 has one and several other people I know have the emergency key built into the fob.

IF the fob battery is dead and not opening the doors; you are correct... the emergency key will only open the door. Then touch the start push button with the fob and push in the start push button with the fob to activate the ignition switch. I have had to do this on my wife's '14 GC when the fob wasn't responding.
This will also work on the newer Lexus and Infinity with push button start.

My 2003 key is chipped. Found out when I went to Lowe’s to have a 2nd key made. A little over $65 to have that puppy made! .

WM was the cheapest I found for a spare key, it was $40 IIRC.

Does my 2003 ignition key have a chip in it, or is just a reg'lar ol' key I can get duplicated at the hardware store?

My Sahara '03 auto trans has a FOB chip OEM "JEEP" logo in it.
Yours looks like my spare door keys made from ACE.
