Looking for a better clearing M/T tire

I feel your pain.... They use to offer a 37X13.5X16.5 in bias but don't anymore. I don't know anyone who has ran their radials either so it's hard to want to take a chance on $550 tires. I'm looking at some 36" Swampers when my current tires wear out.

With as little as I drive my TJ, I should go back to swampers. I saw today some great deals on the blem section today on some 33” interco’s.....and some 36” ones too.

Heck I drove Boggers on the street for a few months so running Super Swampers ain't shit...… As soon as I could afford another set of tires I swapped them out and only used the Boggers when I was wheeling.

If my rig was more off road and non daily I would as well, but DD here in Oregon need a good rainy pavement tire lol

True, if I had to DD the thing I’d just keep rocking these MT’s I have on it. Nothing wrong with them at all...just know I could have a much more off-road worthy tire on it kills me. 😂

And watch, I’ll be in the same boat again with a rig that will need a trailer again and hate it. You all are bad influences. 😂

But but...were they cut?!?

Kidding, boggers are no joke on the street. 🤣

When I first built my TJ it was going to be driven to the trail and NEVER trailered...… See how that worked out for me?
When I was buying these tires one of the reasons for the TSL SX was the tread depth. It has about the deepest I could find.

I bought the TJ with them on it. And it had NEVER been off-road. Had a ProComp 4" lift and a LARGE chested blonde owned it. Drove it around Yakima and liked the way the Boggers looked so ran them. IMHO for most wheeling up here in the PNW they SUCK

One of my friends have gone through a few good sets of mud tires including pitbulls iroks and TSL’s. In the thick mud he says there all about the same. I loved my bias Iroks but they would also gum up pretty good. Here him and I are tied for high mark both in pretty new tires that look like slicks. Me on Iroks him on TSL’s

Yep, my last three rigs always ended up as trailer queens and I honestly hated that part. Pissed me off on a few levels.

I swore I wouldn’t do that with this Jeep, keep it mild and pure. I need to get off the forums cause you guys have me pricing out a V8 swap, stretch, tons, again....gotta stop myself. 🤣

First off, pics of PO would go over well right now. 😝

And yes, one of my good wheeling buddies had a suburban that was a war wagon on 44” boggers and they were the worst...the truck was a huge beast but he was always stuck. Lol

Yea, trailering isn’t an option for me either. I do like the idea of being able to trailer home a broken rig if I’m out of state, but if it’s less than a days drive I’d rather just drive the Jeep up there even if I could afford a truck and trailer.

One of the issues I had was one, it’s a bit of a PITA to deal with it. Second was some places have zero parking and even less with a real truck and a 20’ trailer. Last is...I beat on thing more knowing I could just trailer it home and leave it be. Making me less of a enjoying the trail and scenery, and more look at this boys!!! 😂

I've only been able to trailer my rig in the last 15 years. Before that I drove my rig as a DD. Sent many a night fixing broken parts so I could go to work on Monday. Even though my TJ has become a trail rig once I have it running again I'll drive it more that just on the trail. As I said before I have driven TSL's on the road and will again. If you get a more aggressive tire like a TSL make sure you get the tires spied as it helps a lot with traction.

Never met the gal, just heard stories about her once I bought the Jeep. People would stop and ask me where she was.

I get it, been there!!!

I do like the look of the TSL SX2’s they might work pretty decent for a DD.

And I guess it takes me to the next level of 36’s...so that MML, BL, and tummy tuck come in handy. Then I HAVE to get my chromo shafts, RCV’s and maybe switch to hubs. Thanks for helping me spend $10k. 😂

Glad to help.....

Some where along the way I'm going to have to switch to a 17" rim from my 16.5" rims so I have better tire selection. Either going to get Hutchinson rims or go back to a single beadlock. Or get the internal beadlocks.

I’d personally go with some forged walkers or some other singles but you got your needs!! Those damn internal systems are a pita to deal with.

Go for light weight!

Yea, supposedly the SX line is their extreme use tire. Hopefully they’ll offer the SXII tread with a more flexible body. Until then I suppose I can sip a TSL.
