Have you considered savvy 3" springs? No need for a Sye since you have a rubicon. The savvy springs will allow for maximum articulation and have a long free length.

I have not looked at those. That's a real good thought though. I could skip the BL; what shocks would pair well with those? The Ranchos 0-2?

Perhaps. But the 2.5" may be a slightly better fit.

I needed to use the 55239 in the front of mine. So they might be too long with only a 3” lift. But maybe not because his tire will be able to tuck more.

Likely the best option would be wait until after installing the springs. While you, Tom, have the old springs out disconnect the sway bar, bring one side to full bump and the other to full droop. Measure the space between where the shock would mount and you'll know the max compressed length. If you do it at Jim's borrow his spare 33", if that's the size you're moving up to, and run the test.

Or just buy both sets from amazon and return the least ideal one. That way you could set the bumps also.
