Need some star wrench mounting ideas

I would like some ideas on how to mount my star wrench between the tire and the tailgate on my Rusty's tire carrier.

Anyone have any simple ideas for a mounting option?

I’ve thought about using snap clips to put one under the hood. Similar to the clips that hold the heater hoses on the valve cover

A piece of abs pipe mounted there. With a "U" shaped notch on each side of the tube to hold the cross arms in position.

I carry one of the folding ones in my tool bag. Not as big so not as much leverage but hey it very seldom that I ever use it on the trail. I keep a full size one in the garage

Can’t help you with star wrench mounting, but if your looking for tire changing solutions I keep a breaker bar with the appropriate socket Velcroed with the rest of the jack accessories.

You don't need a star wrench, just carry a 1/2" breaker bar with the correct size socket and 4" extension on it. Like JR suggested.

That is exactly what I do Jerry. 19mm deep well socket and extension. For carry tools I have a complete 3/8 drive kit and I also carry a 1/2" to 3/8th adapter in the event I need more grunt on a socket, the breaker bar is available. You never know what tools you need, so I try to plan for most likely situations. BFH, duct tape and vice grips will suffice for those odd events you did not plan for.

In my cars, I love having a four-way.
Learned how to spin one before I could drive.

For carry tools I have a complete 3/8 drive kit and I also carry a 1/2" to 3/8th adapter in the event I need more grunt on a socket, the breaker bar is available.

You may want to consider carrying a 1/2" drive set instead of or in addition to that 3/8". Few trail repairs can be done with a 3/8" drive set of sockets. Most 1/2" drive sets go down to 3/8" which is still smaller than nearly anything you'd be working on when on the trail. Or carry the 3/8" set too but I'd definitely add a 1/2" drive set to your tool kit.

I really like an extendable 1/2” ratchet for working on the Jeep. Extra torque when you need it and more manageable for when you don’t.

I like that a lot, didn't know they sold them. I'm picking one up the next time I'm at HFT.

I also found that the factory lug wrench has very thick walls and will not fit into the lug nut recess on my Fuel wheels so a socket and breaker bar it is.

I try to keep my Jeep free of stuff people will want to steal.

They make cheaper versions under different branding. That one is just top of the line (excluding $napon) and compact.

If you plan on doing any serious wrenching, trust me when I say BIG difference in terms of time and effort compared to using hand tools. And trail ready too, no air compressor needed.

I have used one of those, they are disappointing when it comes to lug nuts.
