Hey all, i bought a jeep tj 6 months ago so im still sorta new. First jeep forum post ever too. Anyways its a two door soft top and it has decals that say renegade on the sides of the hood, pinstrips from the doors to the back with renegade on the back sides as weel, and a picture of a indian head under the 4.0 decal. I cant find out anything about it, it looks factory, just a little sun faded. Anyone heard of this?

It was most likely done as an aftermarket mod, I don't think TJs ever came in this variant.

TJs never had a Renegade option. Someone put those decals on it.

That isn't entirely true. The Jeep TJ in export trim to Australia is called the Jeep Renegade. Here is what the decals look like. We have a friend in Australia who purchased some from the dealer down there and sent them over.
There is another vehicle that uses the Sahara name so they have to call it something else. Also the same reason Canadian Wranglers are called TJ instead of Wrangler. There is another vehicle with the Wrangler name in Canada.

I have one also 2001 model with a hardtop. I was told it was a package offered by the dealer.
You can run your vin#. It was prb just a sticker (and flares?) package if from the dealer.

Loads of TJ Renegades in Australia as mrblaine said, I am pretty sure the early USA Sahara was called Renegade here because we had the very popular Toyota Landcruiser Sahara. Later ones are not quite a USA Sahara but sort of a mish mash much higher trim level than a sport. All TJ Renegades have the mad smiling Indian Brave and Renegade logo and came with hardtop as standard

Could be just Decals in USA but the early Australian Sahara which is called Renegade here also had pinstripes
