That was the car my Wife was driving when I met her.... in 1984! A lot of work and $$ into it we have it back to original which was the goal. It was "finished" a couple years ago to clear the way for me to get a Jeep again which is what I was driving when we met!

They are works of art indeed. Wish I never sold it. Nice ones seem to go for about
30-50k now

I owned a 99 Z28 from 02 to 09. It was nice, I really liked the LS1 and the 6 speed. I put about 100k miles on it and traded up to a 02 C5. C5 prices are getting lower and lower. Both cars are a lot of fun for the money.

same here...anything after the 3rd generation just doesn't do it for me. My 1988 Z28 was a bad ass vehicle ...had a faded bad paint job, worse gas mileage than my TJ but it sure was fast!!

I had a 5th Gen ZL1 which was actually a very awesome car. But the one I liked the most was my 69 SS Camaro.

Dude. We must be brothers from another mother or something, bluegrass, Camaro's and jeeps. I owned 70 split bumper (high school) , 97 v6 that I rebuilt from totaled engine fire, and 01 SS convertible.

Ya 01 was boring as an auto. I'd definitely buy a manual but for 5k max

Haha, I guess so! I had a '69 Camaro SS and a 2013 Camaro ZL1 as well.

$10k friend price? Nah, I was thinking $5-6k would buy it. I still want an 88-92 Camaro convertible to LS swap just for a toy. Nothing crazy, just 400-500hp naturally aspirated with a/c. Once I get some land bought and a shop built, I will find one to tinker with.

I really don’t like the 3rd gens much, BUT, I grew up in that era so, they do hold a bit of love from me. My mom had a 91’ Firechicken formula when I was in HS. Took it to prom. It was a cool car.

I had a 1985 Z-28 and a 1989 Trans Am GTA. The GTA was cooler, but the Z-28 was my first real car. I drove my high school girl friend to our first dance in it. I married her ten years later. Shes snoring in the other room right now. I'd like that car back even though it got totaled twice. Not my fault either time.

Totally get that!!! I had a 1976 Chevy, 3/4 ton, black, long bed. Bought from original owner. My wife, not snoring yet, sits next to me. I met her in that truck. I miss it.

but square body trucks have gone up enough I do t love it that much!!!! I’d spend the cash on something I never had. Like the 67’ 911 I could have bought. I kick myself for that one.

A good friend had a 1969 Camaro RS/SS in 1994 as his first car. Had a built 396 and was dead slick. Red and black with a black interior. His dad helped him build it from when he was 14. Lots of fun times running around in that thing. When the Olds Cutlass convertible came out in like 1996 or 1997 he traded it in for one new off the lot. I could have bought the Camaro for $10K, but back then $10k might as well have been a million dollars. Can you imagine the remorse he has to feel today? God the shame of it, it hurts my stomach.

Right?!? I damn near bought a new truck in 1997. It was 16k, I thought that was nuts. My last new truck (2017 F350 was 61k new) and it had cloth interior. Lol.

I had a $11! Job back in 1997!

Lol.

I bet he REALLY. Kicked himself for it!! Yikes.!!!!!

Right, my 2019 Ram 1500 was $58k, but its pretty loaded up. In 1997 I worked at KFC for $4 something an hour and was a Little League umpire in the summer for like $7 an hour. I road my Yamaha IT175 everywhere in the summer and didnt have a care in the world. Shit changed in 1998 when I got my girlfriend pregnant. I've been with the same company for 20 years now.

At the time we thought that Cutlass was pretty damn cool, but looking back, not so much.
