Hi guys. 2000 TJ 2.5 here. 175000 miles. Just got the Jeep about a month ago and haven’t drove it much. But we have noticed that it runs hot. It hasn’t been a problem until tonight. She overheated after about 10 minutes of driving. we replaced the thermostat with fingers crossed, however it still overheats. I’m not getting any of the water pump signs that I should. no real noticeable leak. No weird noises. But I do here a hiss coming from the water pump/thermostat area after I shut the vehicle off. Is that normal? Should I go ahead and replace it? The guy I bought it from said it’s a replacement that was installed before he bought it. No Signs of a bad head gasket either. Oil looks great, no smoke, nothing. Pressure runs right in the midle of the gauge, maybe a tad over. Am I nuts? It overheats now very quickly After starting! Thanks!
