How do I determine which transfer case I have?

There's a tag on the back of your transfer case, looks like this

The top line will say either 231j or 241j

You can also verify which case by the year and trim of your TJ. If it's a rubicon it's probably a 241 unless somebody screwed with it. Otherwise you've got a 231.
