Ticking noise / oil pressure bouncing

So, im not sure if these two problems are related, but ive got a ticking noise that just started recently. It's more apparent when I'm putting a load on the engine, but exists even if the engine is idling. Its definitely coming from beneath the center console / passenger side area. And is much louder from under the jeep than from the hood looking in.

At the same time, my oil pressure guage has been bouncing all over the place recently and the check guages light comes on intermittently while I'm driving (no rhyme or reason, doesn't matter if I'm giving it gas or idling. I do have a new ops unit (mopar) but haven't put it in yet.

2004 2.4 engine if that makes a difference.

I thought it may have been an exhaust leak but the check guages thing makes me think it might be a bit more serious. So far it hasn't affected how the jeep drives and performs.

Any thoughts as to what this might be ?

If the tick was coming from the engine you would hear it coming from the engine. I can’t say what the ticking is (could be exhaust but that’s usually from the manifold) but I’m pretty certain your OPSU is unrelated.

I'll try changing out the OPSU since I have it anyways.

Not that ticking is ever good, but assuming its an exhaust leak... how do I check for that ?
