So I have an 03 Rubicon, 3.5" rubicon express lift, non adjustable lower control arms which netted around 4". I have dropped the transfercase with a few washers. I just received savvy double adjustable upper control arms. Before I install them and order a new rear dl, should I just bite the bullet and add some kind of tummy tuck? There are so many options out there. Also I can barely get it in my garage right now, I dont want a body lift, maybe just a mml. I just read through the tt sticky but am still not sure what I want to do. This isnt my daily but i do rely on it to haul my trailers and cant have it sit for months? Sorry if im beating a dead horse but im kinda stuck here. Thanks

You're opening a huge can of worms with a Savvy tummy tuck.

Not that I don't highly recommend it (I run one myself), but you're going to need adjustable control arms all around, you're going to need your exhaust re-worked, a Savvy transfer case cable shifter, 1.25" body lift, 1" MML, and a lot of time and patience, trust.

That tummy tuck is the equivalent of adding another 4" of suspension lift in terms of driveline angles.

You're also going to find on a SWB TJ that unless you have a Currie rear track bar, there is a good chance it's going to hit the fuel tank skid.

Like I said, be prepared for a can of worms. That's what happened when I installed mine.

You can't install a Savvy tummy tuck without a 1.25" body lift and a complete set of adjustable control arms (uppers and lowers, front and back).

Try it, let us know what happens, and then you'll see why ;)

How much room until the Jeep hits the open garage door?

I'm looking at alternatives to the savvy, I cant do more than a 1/2" body lift, I have the rubicon express rear adjustable track bar. I'm just seeing if anyone has run anything close. I'm just looking for a little improvement.

Why can't you do more than 1/2" of body lift?

If you aren't going to be rock crawling it and it's just going to be seeing paved roads and maybe forest service roads, stick one of the Rokmen skid plates on there that work with the 1/2" body lift.

Garage height, it see's a bit more than paved and gravel roads. Snow is the biggest issue with the stock skid.

The most you can do is what @DylanM345 said. Get busy if you want a partial TT.

and to the OP if your gonna do a partial tuck, you might as well do a full tuck. Dont do all the work to skimp out, at least thats what I would do. If youre gonna be relocating spring perches, fixing exhaust etc. you might as well go with the flattest tuck available for your application. My .02

With his max BL of 1/2”, he won’t be able to clear that kind of space. I agree with your principle though, if you do it, you might as well go all the way.

another vote for UCF

I have one installed on my YJ already, and have the parts to put one on the TJ..just waiting for the new garage to be built, so I have a good space to work in

You have a Rubicon, which has the 241 Transfer case. It's larger than 231. I wheel with a friend who owns a Rubicon and has a UCF No body lift skid and I think he netted around 1.25" more ground clearance over the factory transmission/T-case skid. I think that will be the most you can do without a body lift to clear your garage door and gain a couple inches. What's not mentioned above is if you have the stock rear driveshaft, you'll need to replace it with a double cardan. Those can be had for around $300 or a local DS shop can modify yours.

Wish I had known this a few months ago. Lol. Chris is dead on. The result is awesome but everything that goes into it is more than it appears.
