I dont think the rear can be swapped. Without a lot of welding on the tub.

I also think the newer seats look about 30 years newer than the funky tear drop shape of the stock 97-02. I just want a more modern look.

You want a more "modern" look - on a Jeep TJ Wrangler? Isn't that like, an oxymoron?

I guess the old saying about opinions is true. I personally think the 2003 - 2006 seats are ugly and look rather ridiculous with that low seating position and a back that nearly reaches the ceiling.
