Arizona Rock Crawler

Well, I’m finally back from my honeymoon and ready to tackle my transmission swap. The wedding and honeymoon were amazing but it’s good to be back home.

First step with the trans swap is replacing my radiator with one that has the trans cooler at the bottom. While I’m in there I’m going to:
Thermocure the system
Replace the thermostat and gasket
And replace the hoses.

I will use the thermocure with the old radiator in place still, get it all flushed out, and then put the new radiator in. As per the suggestion of many I went with a Mopar radiator.

Alright got the Jeep flushed pretty well and just added the thermocure in. Now drive for 3 days and see what comes out

Some of them won't drill. I just use the stock bolt from the rear of the upper arm and the stock nut from the front of the upper.
Good to know. I’ll do that when I install my dads arms because drilling sucked

Step 1 towards the auto swap is complete! New radiator with the trans cooler is in as well as new thermostat and hoses.
I used:
Mopar radiator
Stant thermostat with 1/8” hole drilled in flange
Stant gasket
Stant radiator cap
Zerex G05 coolant
I also took time to center the fan shroud around the fan. This required me drilling holes .75” lower in the radiator because of my tummy tuck.

Also don’t forget to fill up with 70/30 mixed coolant if you don’t drain the block. There’s still water sitting in there so you need a slightly more concentrated solution after a flush.

Which means I have a daily driver while I do my swap.
Today I just got done some little tasks like putting a new ujoint in the auto front driveshaft, painted the deep trans pan, and cleaned up my workshop. Tomorrow I’ll go get a pilot bearing puller and seal puller from HF and maybe even start taking out the trans.

The two car life makes mods much less stressful! Nice ride 👍🏽

Care by Volvo?

EDIT: never mind, I didn’t see it was an auction. We are thinking about doing the Care by Volvo subscription plan.
