Hog's Blackie 97 Sahara

So I decided to create a “build” by a few recommendations from people on here @Wildman and @BuildBreakRepeat so I will start from the beginning.. like everybody I’ve had a few TJs.. I bought a 2012 Jk artic and daily drove for a few years.

I gave it to my oldest and then he went to Japan with the Air Force so I traded it in on this..

I had the place I bought it swap the soft top to hard top and wheels off another jeep to create this.
It’s pretty much all stock but I love the Sahara seat colors in these earlier models.

In due time.....So I decided to get some different wheels cause a guy offered me 500 for my wheels so.. I found some black JK method wheels and decided to paint the fake beadlock nuts bronze to match the Sahara part of the vehicle

it had 35s bfg MT’s on it 2 were bad but 2 were good, still haven’t got rid of the 2 yet.. picked these up for 300 bucks

So I went to jeep fest in gatlinburg and decide to meet someone I met online.. @AndyG .. so my wife and I cleaned up the jeep and put bikini top on I got and headed to the mountains

I also got a EAG front bumper and a rock crawling rear Pro Comp bumper.

I had put some 33” tires on Thunderer AT’s and as you can see from last photo it came with bed lined 7” wide flares that I didn’t like and finally found some factory flares that I painted and put it.

I got tired of the black wheels and have been seeing a lot of the bronze wheels so tried my hand at painting my aluminum wheels that were powder coated..

I love the classic look of bulb fog lights, I guy it’s from seeing them on cool trucks growing up so I had 2 KC lights my son took off his bronco.

I rebuilt them and ordered to more and AndyG just happen to have 2 extra yellow smiley face covers so I installed them and wired them into the old fog light switch and got a KC switch and ran wires and mounted the new set

I decided to go all aluminum on the wheels so I stripped them

Christmas time was coming along and on the deals section of the Forum I ran across a deal!.. I picked up a Zone 3” lift and shocks For 95 bucks and a Bestop rear tires carrier for like 100 bucks or some thing crazy like that!

Drilling holes into your body is nerve racking for sure.

A friend of mine had some LEDs laying around in his garage. He no longer needed and gave them to me.
So I installed them as well as went to a local audio place and got a marine grade radio and new speakers.

I got some help from @toximus and purchased a Jks trackbar and with the help from @AndyG we installed it cause I had picked up a wobble after doing some off roading..
I got Moog tie rod ends and a ZJ conversion and installed it all in one evening and really corrected my issue!

I saw @DrDmoney and @Alex01 talk about putting in LED flush mounted tail lights and got some info from both of them and decided to tackle it over the weekend.

I had half doors on my old impact orange Tj that I bought new in 06 and ended up selling it 7 years later.

So I went on a search a and found some with the exact same interior as I have.. but the doors were teal color so I had to get them painted.

This jeep technically is my wife’s, because she said I couldn’t have any more vehicles, so she mentioned at the last Jeep Fest she wanted a Yellow one.. so after 8 months of searching I found her a LJ 04

Now that Blackie is mine AndyG names it, I wanted to get some newer seats cause there was 2 cigarette holes in driver seat and rear bench. I found some on Facebook and after a month of making a offer on the rear seat, the lady finally sold it to me in all for 250 bucks.

I haven’t mounted the driver side yet cause these seats are from a newer model and it tilts forward so I think I need a new track for it to work.
