Will 285/70R17 tires fit on it with a 2.5” lift?

They’ll fit but you’ll lose up travel without a 4” lift, therefore this is essentially a downgrade.

Add a 1.25” body lift to the 2.5” suspension lift and you’ll be good to go.

That's what I've been reading Thanks

Here is the difference between a 2" and 4" lift with 285-70-17's.

Not quite sure what you're asking. Haven't ever heard of a trail boss. If you can, post some picture of your LJ so we can see what you're working with.

Sorry was asking if the trail rates is the Rubicon

Not a trail boss but trail rated and does that make it a Rubicon and not just the unlimited

I'd agree with the posts above. 2.5" with 285/75R17 will be fine if you keep your sway bar connected. I ran a similar setup for about 8 months. 285 BFG KO2s, 17" JK wheels, 1.25" spacer/adapters with an OME lift that gave me exactly 3" front and rear. Washers were needed on the steering stops to keep the tires out of the control arms. Aftermarket wheels with less backspacing might allow you to avoid that. Otherwise, around town and mild trails it was never an issue. I would not have run it disconnected.

Are you daily driving it? Drive in the snow? I'd suggest a lunchbox locker in the front (like a spartan) but without knowing your plans, I'm hesitant to recommend anything.
