I am stuck. I bought a 97 with the fender flares and looking for a new front bumper for a winch. Been looking and not sure what to get. What looks better the snub or full bumper?
What will look better on my TJ, a stubby bumper or a full bumper?

I am thinking the same but want to be sure before I spend the dough. Not going to be an over active trail rider but hate to spend a day stuck because of a bad bumper can’t handle the winch or pull. More trail and mud runs than rock climbing in Florida.

IMO I think a full bumper would look more out of place with the flat fenders, there would be a gap between them

Stock is fine, as the winch bolts into the frame. Clean & lightweight. There’s a good thread on here with chopped stock bumpers.

Wide bumpers are weird looking with flat fenders.
That looks close to the JK bumper, is it?
also OP - stubbie just due to the fenders.
Consensus: You have approval for a stubby bumper. Post pics and dont do anything weird.

don't know if it "the best" but I like my Rock Hard stubby..it's strong and has a bolt on steering box skid available

Another vote for stubby. I still run the factory front that I plan to cut down
I like my $200 LOD USA made bumper. I sold the PO's tube bumpers for $250.
