Shifter issue after MML install

My new 04 TJ X had a 3" BL on 33's. No other suspension upgrades, according to the last original owner. It actually rode pretty nice, but I hated the BL. So I swapped the 3" for a 1.25 BL and a 1" M.O.R.E motor mount lift. The problem I ran into, is the shifter hits the console in 1,3 and 5. Searching online for fixes it seems most folks have the problem in 2,4 and R and are able to move the console reward. I can slide the console forward about half an inch and it will work. But the armrest portion isn't able to come forward without being cut. My next project is 2 inch springs. Will the springs change the transmission/shifter angle?
What did you guys do to fix the console?

He probably slide the console back so he would hit in 2, 4 & R. I would slide the console forward.

The part circled in red and the bolt with the red arrow are not stock. The PO added those to extend the shifter to accommodate the 3” BL. Get rid of that crap. Move the part circled in blue down to where the part circled in red is, and use the bolt with the blue arrow pointed at it to lock it into place. Get a new lower shift boot. That one’s torn to shreds and letting heat in from the transmission. Then see how everything plays together. Report back.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest until I read your post.
Appears that change should move the shifter forward approximately a 1/2".

It’ll move ot rearward.
The center of the lower spacer becomes the center of the upper shifter part

It appears that I looked at the shifter position wrong inside the console opening.

Thanks JMT...That was it! Pretty east to remove after destroying the shifter knob to get it off! Great engineering idea at Jeep designing shift knob cap that can't be removed...Another amazing Jeep move was discontinuing the inner shift boot,
I got a little creative and tried to make my own. So far so good but I'll drive it a bit and see how it works out.
I got an old truck inner tube and cut out a much large section out. The tubes have a folded crease along the edge. I used the crease to make a tent over the access hole. I used a round piece of tube to punch a small hole for the shifter and worked it down the shifter. I then used the old inner boot frame to sandwich the tube down into place. I pulled the tube up getting plenty of slack and screwed it back to the floor. I don't know about longevity, but so far so good. Console goes back in tomorrow. It appears I'll have to move it slightly rearward, but that's not a problem.

Nice engineering, consider it a good cost savings for something more exciting. I replaced my inner boot on my 06 a few months ago. I believe it was a $130 part

Congrats, and nice engineering on the lower boot! I replaced mine about 2 years ago and they were $70. Now they’re twice that. I like your idea.
