The journey continues to find good half doors, I’ve found a lot that are junk. I have considered JCR’s and wondered if anyone has them? Are they worth the money?

I could save my self a lot of time and energy buying JCR’s versus the wild goose chase I seem to be on 😂

I am in between these and the Savvy half doors. My reasons for each are I like that I can put a soft upper on the JCR but I dislike the placement of the handle on the interior.

I like the Savvy because of it's handle placement and lack of handle on the outside.
I've thought about this and since I'm getting heated seats and have a heater I think I can drive back in the cold without a soft upper just turn the heat on and throw a sweater on.

I know a lot of people are in my same shoes or have been before.

I have them and like them. I’ll be running them at TJFEST and leaving my factory half doors at home. They rattle a bit and the latches could be better but for the most part they do what I need them to.

Ooof, I hadn’t even thought about the interior handle position, but now that you mention it!

Go with UCF if you want to use standard upper soft top doors. The JCR ones are for specific bestop soft door tops.

Ucf half doors also can accept uppers with the add on bracket. I do like the JCR factory hinge though.

I have them I use them everyday with the bestop uppers they are fantastic. They rattle only when hitting big bumps but other than that they are perfect for warm weather. I got them powder coated them painted with with my factory eletric lime green color.

Thanks, I used paint and primer from

Nice, that’s what I was guessing. Did you use the aerosol?

I probably won’t ever run uppers on them, just want them for summer and trails. The guy wants 550 for his doors, that’s not awful, but more than I want to spend when I consider I have to paint the panels and outside too

Yes, I used their primer, base coat, and clear coat in aerosol cans. It looks great in pictures and from 10 feet away. 😃
I run these doors 8 months a year, very pleased with them.
Here is a link to the page on my build thread when I installed them.

My jcr half doors literally showed up on my porch the day before this thread. I haven’t assembled them so I can’t speak for their performance but I will say that they arrived much sooner than expected after I ordered them. It took exactly three weeks to arrive which is pretty good considering the ever growing lead times a lot of companies like jcr are experiencing right now.

I’m gonna wait and see if This guy wants to sell me the doors for $400 before I pull the trigger! Three weeks isn’t bad at all

Anyone know the weight difference between the JCR lower and the Savvy lower?

Are the JCR’s 6061aluminum?

Anyone got Savvy’s aluminum doors with OEM hinges? Always been curious as to how close they would resemble a true factory half door, especially when paint matched with the tub.
