How much is my Jeep worth?

Hey guys, im not really looking to sell my jeep, but im wanting to know how much its worth because one day id like to get a 4.0 tj. My jeep is a 1997 jeep wrangler se. it has a clean interior, rough country seat covers, full length center console, and brand new carpet and floor mats. Has all new front suspension and steering components, and remanufactured 2.5 brand new. Has 31” cooper discoverer tires, and aftermarket rims. ZERO rust and i mean zero rust. The only killer is that the entire tub is raptor lined by the p/o. Has a brand new soft top. And yes the new tires are not on it in the pictures.

In our area a clean SE sells around 6500-7500. The bedliner finish is a plus with some buyers, but as a general rule, anything besides the original factory paint de values any vehicle.

Dont rule out a V8 swap one day that is a good candidate with a a great off road finish.

The 4.0 beats the 2.5. A v8 will make you laugh at both....at the same time the 4.0 is a very tractable, dependable engine. It is archaic, heavy and outdated , it outlived its own technology...but you can count on it to get you there. I love it and hate it at the same time.

Regardless of having no rust, it's a 2.5 which doesn't hold much value. In addition, that paint job isn't going to help sell it.

Dont mistake it for a junk one. This is a top of the line reman. But yes i can see how it can be an issue because they have a very bad rep. It sucks because i have way more than that put into it

Yea that was the bad thing. In my area even 2.5s seem to sell for a lot. I just dont know if i should keep putting money into it because i really like this jeep even with a tiny engine. And i refuse to hack it apart for a v8

That is actually high mileage but you know that because it had to have a new Donk in it already!
You are invested into it now so just enjoy it for what it is and fix/customize as needed, There are as many people happy with their 4 bangers as there are others who are unhappy with their 4.0,s . Its all about style/enjoyment/simple changeability and being totally different to millions of vehicles that all look and perform the same! Unless you want to go extreme road inclines in Colorado or racing people on the highway to get to work you have the perfect jeep no matter the re sale value or engine displacement! Go forth and Jeep it around your neighbourhood with the top off when its raining and then show them your "off Road" pics
I had a 1200 Sportster once and everyone took the piss saying it was a toy Harley until I out manoeuvred everyone on a weekend run lol and then latter on my Vulcan 900 bobber shit all over them, but it just wasn't a big displacement Harley lol
I have a 4.0 and my wife's 1.4 Hyundai shits all over my TJ on the road same as millions of other vehicles do but I have a choice.

You need to convince the buyer not me. Forums are ok to seek opinions and may sell as well if you have one perfect piece.

My engine was bad because it was beat to hell. But I totally agree. Ill just enjoy it for a while and see what happens. This engine isnt as bad as everyone says

It's a 5k Jeep.

It's a great candidate for a v8 swap to someone. The right person that already has an engine/tranny can do that swap cheap.

4.10 gears already and according to you no rust.

As it sits though...there are many similar Jeeps (not as clean from rust but still serviceable) with the same 2.5 selling for a quarter(2,500-3500).

Moreover you have many 6 cylinder Jeeps still serviceable albeit not perfect going for 6,500-7,500

Personally for me the spray liner is a deal breaker for me but others like it.

Yea. I didn’t like it, but the jeep was cheaper than every other one for sale. It actually looks really good, no flaky or anything. Covered everywhere. And its very durable and easy to clean and maintain. But yea, I wanted a jeep i could strip completely down and powdercoat everything.

The Raptor liner is a price killer for many given most (not all) do it as a cheap way to hide shitty paintwork or surface rust which in turn cry's out abuse or covered up problems to a buyer.
4 Cylinder TJ,s are not very popular it seems, I cant answer why because we never got a 4 cylinder variant only the 6, I am sure that if the TJ came out with a V8 the 6 would forever play second fiddle but the reality is "Once a vehicle has a stigma its there until it becomes rare"

pixologics jeep was coated with white spray lining and it had gouges and was stained all over with dirt and grime that would not wash off. Looked like shit. He sold it to someone with no problem. Any jeep in any condition sells easily here in SoCal.

Yea, its the same way over here. I watched a jeep sell for $5k and the entire passenger side bottom of the tub was scraped and smashed in.
