Picked up a second Jeep (2006 LJ)

Hope I’m not absolutely crazy for buying this thing. I have a gorgeous 98 TJ. Red, brown BMW seats and just ordered a set of wheels and tires for it. it’s perfect and I’ve gone through everything.

....then a high mileage 2006 LJ rolled into the auction. 170k, but it sounds good and I didn’t see any rust. Underneath it looks clean with a little oil seepage from the front diff. Has a hardtop auto and full doors. I paid $8200 including fees. Haven’t driven it!

Really thinking about a full out build. LS swap, metal cloak lift, better axles etc.

hard to go wrong with a $8k LJ, right?

A family that I have known but not real well for a few years just sold their LJ with 90k on it for $9800. Florida Jeep with hard top. She told me they had no problem selling for $9800. I said they stole it from you. She said, well, I did have 18 people interested in the first day......I would have bought it if I knew it was for sale.

$8k, full doors and hard top....you scored. You could sell the hardtop get a new quality bestop soft top and still have $1000 for upgrades depending on the buyer.

I’m going to do a full cleaning, service everything and swap the wheels over from the red one. It ran really well but had a couple hard shifts when it was cold. If I keep it she will be getting a V8. I’ve done a few big engine swaps but not with a Jeep (Yet).

Got her home and started a good cleaning. My son and I were at it for hours. Swapped the 33’s from my TJ. Despite 170k it really drives great!
