And that's where I'm seeing one of the downfalls of the Tracer kit.
I'm right in the middle of a rear coil over install. 14's, 7 up, 7 down. At full stuff, the top of the axle tube is 6" from the high point of the arch on the under side of the frame. If you don't want or care about up travel, do it however you like.

I was also given direction as to how I should do it. Had I followed that direction, I would have had to limit up by several inches and put a center limit strap on to limit down. I asked the owner why he bought 14's????

Garage kept, never vacuumed.

Hehehe,
I think I use to try and wash mine once a year. And hose out the inside. And it shows... But it was a trail Jeep.

Some things on it looks good but there are things that aren't good either.

He pushed the axle back but didn't move the hump. This was one of the things that Blaine had said that convinced me to cut and stretch the frame back.

This is why I sold the TJ and bought an LJ. Now I want to stretch the LJ. I want to keep my backseat and undermount fuel tank and not buy a JK.

In what manner does the wheel arch limit down travel?

It doesn't. It is the up travel if you are keeping your springs. If you're going to coilovers it isn't as much of an issue that I can see. But I am not a suspension guru.

If it happens it's gonna be another LJ. I'm trying to learn what I can on that Tracer kit now, that one looks to have done something different to their belly skid as it doesn't hang down like the normal tracer kit.

The Tracer is a solution for those who want a kit, not a solution to build well. There's a lot with it that's a compromise in order to save time.

4" up, 10" down.

If you aren't building up travel, then you get a bunch of down. There comes a point where the driveshaft can't go any further. A limit strap is an answer to that.
