i didn't care for any of the premade fender armor. it either had a logo or the JEEP cut out.
or stopped and didn't overlap the fender. hinge cuts differ.

i bought 2 pieces of raw 6061 3/16" sheet for less than 1/2 the cost of anything sold (and i didn't really like).

How did your home made one turn out?

not sure just yet, my OE high line is rottin out on top so i'm gonna have to make changes. but wasn't to hard to pattern and cut.
this is about where i stalled.

it'll sit about even with the armor on the rear of the tub.

shop around aluminum's going up like everything else.

i bought from midwest steel and aluminum, they'll cut to size, think it was like 43$ a piece + shipping for my 27x17 3/16 6061.
5052 is even cheaper and still pretty dam strong.

IIRC, toximus made some also his are much prettier.

I was trying the line the guys we met last time said they do and just got pushed into the wall. I thought all I was hitting was the door and corner armor so I kept sending it. Didn’t realize I was hitting the body in front of the door. There’s a giant rock at the top that prevents you from just going straight up or you hit your steering and get stuck. You have to go to the right or left of it. To the right is not the move apparently

Didn’t realize I was hitting the body in front of the door. There’s a giant rock at the top that prevents you from just going straight up or you hit your steering and get stuck. Yep, go w your gut. Can you put your driver tire on the big rock to the left of your rig? Or turn hard driver earlier and get your driver tire in that crack so you come up on the left side of that big rock?

Yep. I had my dad go to the left of the rock completely. It’s a bigger struggle for traction but I’d rather sit there and scrub for a while than hit the wall

I love seeing the terrain your wheelin’. I even liked watching all the videos too, at first. Now I’m kinda like, quit it! I’d love to vicariously wheel through you like some, but at some point you just get plain jealous!

Haha! Wheelin season is probably on hold for a while if it makes you feel better. It was pretty brutal wheelin in 100 yesterday. Hot weather is fine and dandy until you have to get out and fix someone’s rig. Turns an uncomfortable day into miserable haha.
I also need to figure out what I want to do now for armor and trail doors and all that...
I want to give my best attempt at making a flak jacket like Blaine does.

Would a router help with the curve? Make a jig and go to it. The straight edges are easy with the right blade. The Blaine rig looks great as usual!

Spent my free time the last two days going through your entire build. Crazy how far it’s come. Hoping one day I’ll have a Jeep of my own I can build similar to this bad boy. Watching!

I need to look into finding rub rails, I love this and really don't like the massive steps on the GR mini boat sides.
