Wrangler is pretty easy, don't even need a jack. If you don't have an engine skid it is extremely easy. I don't really do the "shop" thing unless it's gear patterns or hydraulic clutch thingys so there's that.
It's too easy on a Wrangler not to change it ourselves. I can be done sooner than it'd take me drive to one of the local overpriced quick change joints.
The better question around here may be “who doesn’t?”
It gives you a chance to inspect everything and hit all seven of those zerks. If you don't do your own basic work you can't really keep up on all the small details. Kids at Jiffy Lube don't care about your u-joints.

So easy compared to most cars. You don't have to remove any plastic, you don't have to jack it up. The oil filter might spill a little oil down the side of the block, but you just spray it off with brake cleaner & you're good. Like @pagrey said, it's a good opportunity to have a look around.
I strive to not let dealerships or lube jockeys touch my vehicles unless it’s a warranty claim.
Sounds like OP might be better suited to a Prius or something.
My dad taught me the need, ease and cost savings of changing my own oil when I was 14 (when I was able to start driving). I’m now 40 and have been doing it ever since on all my vehicles. I trust myself on this job more than most shops. To be honest I look forward to doing it especially when the weather is nice.
All members with sideburns change theirs, then a select group beyond that.
You can get certified to do yours too, I have all the paperwork.

Never trust jiffy lube dudes they can strip out your oil pan threads. They think a torque wrench is something you jerk off with.

Ask yourself this, “Do you really want a shop that’s trying to get as many vehicles done as it can, for its $29.99 special, with all work performed by a person making minimum wage that can’t spell “Oil”!
I don’t know about most of you, but my Jeep’s my recreational vehicle, my hobby, and a whole lot of time and money. I’m not willing to sacrifice that for a job I can do, knowing it was done right!

Ha the jeep is the easiest vehicle Ive changed oil in! the lift might help though lol. Its fairly simple and it takes exactly 6qts so its not that hard. better than my mr2 where the you have to reach your arm all the way up the engine to get the oil filter and try not to burn your hand on the header! Also I dont really trust quick lube places with my cars, I hear too many things of them stripping bolts or not using quality oil.
