so ive seen tummy tucks like the savvy one that are very flat, but I have to be very careful not to end up having to spend a ton of money in order for nothing to be hitting something it shouldn't, so what's a good tummy tuck that tucks it a little bit but not TONS to where you risk spending extra money?
or would I not have to worry about that with only a 3 inch lift?
btw by the time I get a TT I will have rear adj CAs

I don't have the answer, but I 2nd the question. Is there a aftermarket transmission crossmember/belly skid which is lower in profile or at least has smoother, more chamfered edges?

edit: for use WITHOUT MML and/or body lifting.

There's a fair amount of work required to doing a tuck properly. If you're prepared for all that, why settle for "mild"?

Have you been thru this thread?

One thing to consider is getting a very high TT skid but move it lower with a skid plate spacer til it fits. That way, in the future if you do a BL or some other tub clearancing you can just pull out the spacers and bingo, higher TT.
There's a little more to be concerned about here. What happens to your new driveshaft angle when you remove the spacer plates?

This is exactly what I am doing. Ordered the extra clearance skid (and engine skid) from UCF. Took advantage of their 15% off Labor Day sale. Until I can add adjustable control arms, I will space the TC skid so I won't get vibrations. I may not gain much more clearance for now, but at least the underside will be smooth.

Did the same thing. That aluminum skid is very nice!

Then it's not a tummy tuck? :ROFLMAO: UCF makes a nice "no BL" skid that is pretty much the same height as stock but not a shovel.

plenty of times. I just can't risk spending more money than just what a tt cost
What does you skid look like now? Is this a "cool factor" upgrade, or is your current skid all beat up? The tummy tuck is the "single" upgrade that will effect many more systems than just the "tummy tuck" part of it. Aren't two ways around it.

Like @Vasq said, if your skid is all beat up and you need a TT then do it, but I would save your money and wait until you can do it right. Thats what I did and being on a similar lift/tiresize as you it is really important (where I like to wheel) to have a good breakover angle and you cant achieve that with small tires unless you do the flattest tuck you can. I went with the UCF Ultra high aluminum skid(savvy doesnt make 97-02 skids anymore) JB conversions SS SYE(shortest SYE for the 231 on the market), ucf lo-pro mount and a 1"mml to alleviate the severe angle. While im still dialing in vibes and its not that bad, I know I can achieve vibe free. But again its a rather expensive mod and I wouldnt do it if I dont need it. Heres a pic of the skid

What's the total drop from the frame on that skid?

its not a cool factor upgrade, im just anticipating wanting to get one for clearance proposes, im not even getting one rn, it will probably be next year sometime. I think WAY too far in advance, its kinda a problem

If he's looking at a TT then he should also be getting a SYE and adjustable arms. If he puts in a BL later, or recesses the tub around the T-case, then it's a matter of pulling the spacers and resetting the pinion angle. Frankly anytime someone thinks of raising the center skid they should plan on a SYE, cause chances are they are doing a spring lift as well and the vertical difference between the T-case output and the pinion will compound very quickly into SYE territory.

+1 for if you can wait to do it right, you really should. If you can't - then there's some good looking options from UCF. But if you want to play in rocks or mudholes, I would tuck it as much as you can, e.g. savvy or UCF ultra.
