Thanks Rick!!
Last thing I did tonight was to pull the threads out of the new cooler! I Teflon’d in a straight -6an and on fit up, changed my mind and decided to swap in a 90 -6an. Pulled and galled the threads on the new cooler. Fun times.
I did get the ram installed and the fluid drained, that swepco fluid is like liquid gold, so I carefully drained it back into the bottles. I’ll grab another cooler and two 90’s tomorrow. I’m not going to fight it.
Also put on heritage decal on the front of the bumper! Maui Built.

I have run over lots of stuff. Last was my GoPro. It survivedI haven't done a hydro assist install (been thinking one's likely as I upgrade to 35s).
With that said... I do think you may want to rethink installing the cooler directly to the tire. Just seems like trail damage is likely.![]()
See post 19Next time I would simply buy Blaines kit and be ahead of the game. After all the extra -6an fittings, hose, adapters, coolers, etc. it would be cheaper (plus get the -8an, I am still on -6an). He practically gives all that hardware away, he probably gets bulk discounts to able to sell that cheap and passes the savings on to his customers. I had over $300 in just extras not included in the ram/pump/reservoir kit from psc. not to mention I had to shorten the hiems and ram rod myself.
Ya, I am hard headed and forged through. However, I do usually look back and try to rationally figure a better way. More often than not, it has already been done and done better. It is not that I am trying to invent a new wheel, it more the objective challenge coupled with reality AFTER the fact.See post 19
Mine sat a long time after I bought it through Blaine but it was good I did buy it from him because he helped me when I needed it.Ya, I am hard headed and forged through. Another issue I try to downplay is my time and my ability to complete a project. This was supposed to be done four months ago. I finally plugged the hole in the shop with my Jeep. Once I am committed, it must be done. Sometimes waiting for parts is not an option once the project has started.
I can't buy in bulk that large to get any worthwhile discount. I just sell the HA and cooler kit as more of a service. We make a profit, just not a large one. I buy two things in bulk, coolers direct from Derale due to PSC swapping to a different one which didn't fit my mount, and the cooler mount which I buy 50 at a time.Next time I would simply buy Blaines kit and be ahead of the game. Funny/sad. I went down this same path. I bought a PSC setup from Northridge, then spent several hundred dollars in a cooler, fittings, and hose. It worked in the end, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the results. By the time I added everything up, I was only marginally under what it would have cost if I ordered Blaine's kit. For anyone else paying attention, don't be a dummy like me. Order the damn kit and be done with it!I looked at your kit (after the fact of course) and with just a little math, could not figure out or (as I have to do at my shop) justify your cost. I went over the cost of your kit right away, then continued to spend as I made lane changes. This crap is $$! Knowing you do it as a service makes sense, as you can make a few bucks on labor.
Not saying you should "rape" us but I would say you have room to make some money, you put all the stuff together, just out of convenience, it is worth more. We all gripe and moan anyway. We have to or we seem weak.
Personally, I do not like "raising prices", but we had to have two increases since the elections. We have maybe 5 or 6 increases in 30yrs. All this "free" stuff is catching up with us.
6' of -6an braided hose was $50. I could have cut that cost in half had I bought just the 2.5' I needed. But I have a length left over for the next -6an project. LOL
And order it when you order the other items, don't wait till your in the middle of the install.Funny/sad. I went down this same path. You can buy it but you need to verify that the mount hole centers are 13 5/8" or it won't work.I have a psc hydro steering setup on my jeep and when I got it the cooler was mounted on my bumper from a previous owner. I know that there is a kit that comes with a cooler mount to go inside of the grill and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can buy that separate or if it is easy to make with some sheetmetal. Thanks.
