I remember doing this to my 65 Merc and 67 Ambassador in high school for the 'performance boost' aka, more noise.
This is just to be able to replace the filter with the minimum amount of brain damage. Not much thought was put in about servicing this thing, though I was actually surprised how well this lump runs.

Fixed up a lamp I bought cheap as chips on the local trade site.. the copper was just too orange looking.
Not a very hard or long trail, but that particular obstacle has claimed many Jeeps.
I also prefer Holcomb and JB, but Pilot Rock (2N17X) is good for a quick run every now and then.
This one makes me laugh. They couldn't move the leaf before painting the parking lot?
