    From 2.5 to 5.3 with full make-over

Ha! I actually do have a video of the first fire up.. and then after mufflers.

    From 2.5 to 5.3 with full make-over

Thank you! I used Jeggs (cheaper for the set than Autometer). I did end up having to get an Autometer programable fuel gauge, because the Jeep fuel level sensor runs a different Ohm range...

    From 2.5 to 5.3 with full make-over

There was so much more documentation and adaptors for the LS, nit to mention all the after market stuff for them.

    From 2.5 to 5.3 with full make-over

These are the mounts that came with my kit from advanced adapters. They came with a metal tab that was used to place them into the right position.. Yours looks pretty sweet - saw the picks. I should have documented mine like that. I ditched the entire Jeep computer. It was actually way easier to...

Virginia Dana 35 with 4.88 gears and Trutrack

Correct - rear right (passenger side). Super easy install. Should fit 97 - 06 (TJ model years). You will need to regear the front axle to a 4.88 as well.

Virginia Dana 35 with 4.88 gears and Trutrack

I have a Dana 35 with G2 4.88 gears and a Detroit Truetrack for sale. It will need a right side Axle Shaft and brake parts. (I snapped it - I have an LS engine). The gears and Truetrack have very few miles on them and are in great shape. This is a GREAT reared for someone that has a 2.5L and 33...

    From 2.5 to 5.3 with full make-over

He are some pictures of my '97 5.3L swap Project. I ended up doing an entire makeover. Still doing more things to it. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot. I have used the forum quite a bit over the years and have finally joined.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Started my transmission swap! Prepping a 4l60e transmission to swap out the ax15 on my LS Swapped TJ.

    Opinions on underpowered 2.5 TJ

rebuilding that engine is cheap! Ive done it twice. lol The best, most cost effective way to get you down the road at 70 (easily) is to put 4.88 gears in it! Works great! almost feels like a 4.0L. I did the LS swap, and it was not cheap - 4.0L swap wont be much cheaper.

    5.3 Chevy or 5.2 Mopar?

I did a 5.3 swap. I had a 2.5. Its expensive! Your AX5 transmission is not going to handle it. You will need at least an AX15. There are SO many parts and upgrades for the 5.3. Check Novak or Advanced adapters. The kit for the swap is about 2500$. If I had it to do again, I would have originally...

Death wobble issue on new setup

Death wobble: check that the trackbar has absolutely no play and that it is extremely tight on both ends. Bump Steer: generally has to do with geometry - yours looks pretty good (if joints are not parallel, this causes bump steer). Also check your ball joints. I've had these issues as well and...

Would it be best to install a front or rear locker?

I had a 2.5 in my '97, before doing an LS swap. I changed the gears to 4.88 and put a Detroit Truetrac in the rear and Aussie in the front. The Aussie is a beast and inexpensive. The Truetrac was awesome and cheaper than an e-locker - I could go anywhere! The 4.88s made it feel like I had a 5th...
