Even with a foot of snow, I don't have to shovel my driveway and that's with cheap Firestone generic tires. But, I have found I need to be as careful driving my Jeep in snow as I am in any other vehicle.

I am looking for another shop. I don't plan on dropping that kind of money without a second opinion. Fees like that are why I try to do as much as I can by myself.

I hope not. My TJ has been the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. I've owned Chevy, Ford, and Toyota trucks. All of them were better built and were more durable than a TJ.

I was gonna say the same. Blend door actuators and while you're in there, make sure the vacuum lines on the HVAC controls are good. I was going to replace the evaporator when I replaced my heater core, but it was almost $300 so I cleaned the old one and left it in there. Because of what a pain...
